Worlds in a Stochastic Universe
摘要
All that has been said so far can be considered preliminaries for what follows. In the previous chapter, I have argued that, from the way the usual framework of BSM is set up, the discontinuity problem arises, and that it can be tackled by adopting an alternative framework, allowing for phase space to be carved up into a continuous set of overlapping worlds rather than a finite, discontinuous set of disjoint macro regions. The framework thus construed allows for modelling continuous change of the macro state of a system, in accordance with the continuous evolution of its micro state, and the expectation (from thermodynamics) that the evolution of macro values at least possibly should be continuous, all while leaving the functionality and spirit of BSM intact.
