A Novel Fairness Accountability Integrity and Responsibility (FAIR) Model for Holistic Quality Education
摘要
Ensuring fairness, accountability, integrity, and responsibility in educational institutions is vital for quality teaching and research that benefit all students equitably. We propose a novel FAIR Model, grounded in the NOVA-I framework using Novelty, Organizational Justice, Verifiable Accountability, Academic Integrity, and Integrated Algorithmic Governance. Addressing systemic inequities in education demands governance frameworks that are inclusive, transparent, and ethically grounded. Our proposed FAIR Model can be adopted and implemented in future to strengthen and enhance holistic quality education. Designed in alignment with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), the model addresses challenges such as grading bias, lack of accountability, academic misconduct, and algorithmic unfairness. FAIR can be operationalized its principles through development of tools like fairness rubrics, accountability dashboards, integrity audits, and AI fairness checklists. The model offers a four phase methodology for implementation, comprising framework design, toolkit development, pilot deployment, and evaluation. Through empirical insights and policy alignment, FAIR delivers a scalable road map for institutional reform, fostering trust, ethical practices, and student centric learning environments. Unlike existing fragmented approaches, it unifies educational ethics, AI governance, and policy mandates into a comprehensive system with real-world applicability. This research contributes both a theoretical foundation and practical toolkit to transform governance in education, ensuring equity, responsibility, and institutional integrity in the digital era.
