In this chapter we will make explicit certain exotic properties of the groups SL2( \({\mathbb{F}}_{q}\) ) when q = 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 or8. These include exceptional isomorphisms, inclusions as subgroups of SL2( \({\mathbb{F}}_{q}\) ), and realisations as normal subgroups of reflection groups. For a recollection of definitions, results about reflection groups, see the Appendix C.
