Visual Intelligence in Finding Additional Solutions of Matchstick Puzzles
摘要
This chapter claims that analysis of a found puzzle solution, assisted by visual intelligence, can be used to find rather easily more additional visually or fundamentally different puzzle solutions. It is a complement to Braun’s and Katona’s strategies in which general geometrical features of solutions are found without specification about the positions of its parts. The chapter provides four examples which show how visually intelligence can help to find additional solutions from a published single one. Obviously, the authors, who published only one solution to many multiple-solution matchstick puzzles, failed to activate their visual intelligence.
