GIS-Based Landslide Susceptibility Mapping of Nandhaur River, Kumaun Himalaya, India
摘要
Geographical Information System (GIS) is an emerging tool to study morphometric analysis. Nandhaur River is one of the main tributary river in Ramganga river system of Uttarakhand, India. The study region is stretched between 29° 5′ 30″ and 29° 17′ 30″ North Latitude and 79° 40′ 30″ to 79° 57′ 15 East Longitude with the area of 272.5 km2. This region comes under the Shivalik and Lesser Himalayan range. Here, the rate of landslides are high in which 90% of landslides are occur in Shivalik and only 10% of landslides are occur in Lesser Himalayan range. Most of the study region comes under the protected area and densely covered vegetation. This study would help to know more about the morphometric parameter and future possibility of landslide in the study region.
