Optimization of Multi Reservation Operating Policy Using Advanced Optimization Techniques
摘要
Efficient utility of available water sources is crucial for the effective operational management of multi-reservoir systems. These systems are critical for managing water by storing it during periods of high river flow and releasing it during low-flow periods. For irrigation planning, it is vital to develop reliable and efficient operating policies to enhance agricultural productivity. However, determining optimal policies for multi-reservoir systems is a complex task due to the presence of numerous decision variables. In present study, operating policy of multi-reservoir system is determined by implementing advanced optimization technique like Jaya algorithm using population size and number of generations only. The optimal allocation of water determined on monthly basis by Jaya algorithm as 174.14 Mm3 which satisfies 57.09% of total demand. The results are validated with genetic algorithm (GA) and gives discharge of 171.09 Mm3 56.08% of total demand. Result obtained from Jaya algorithm is promising, as takes less computational time and function evaluations. The application of Jaya algorithm is new in field of water resources allocation. The newly developed policy can be implemented to the study area to achieve the economy.
