This paper looks at how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the instructional design process. In response to a comprehensive request, two storyboards, one created by a human educational conceptor and the other by ChatGPT, are examined. We used a mixed approach combining qualitative and quantitative evaluations which allowed us to compare global coherence, educational activity relevance, content quality, and conception time. The results reveal that, even with a clear speed-up in terms of conceptualization, artificial intelligence can produce storyboards of a high quality on par with those produced by humans. Still, quality, nuance, and creative teaching all depend on human expertise. The paper suggests also a future synergistic cooperation between people and artificial intelligence to maximize the development of learning paths, therefore stressing the possibilities of artificial intelligence as an auxiliary tool for teachers.

摘要
