In this paper, we explore the state-of-the-art in sentiment analysis works that leverage various social media platforms as their primary data sources. Utilizing these social networking sites has the advantage of assisting higher authorities or decision-makers in determining their position on any issue, be it an economic reform or a social reform. Because of this, social media analysis is currently a growing field in all IT industries. The paper first describes the many methods that can be used to perform sentiment analysis, followed by examples that serve as proof for each method discussed in the study.
