Improved classification of gynaecological tumours, and therapeutic response prediction, using molecular testing (including immunohistochemical surrogates) is increasingly important for patient management. This is a rapidly changing field, and the application of these approaches to patient stratification will likely expand rapidly in the near future. Furthermore, additional omic technologies that have clinical utility will emerge and require implementation. Healthcare systems will need to employ a continuous horizon-scanning approach, with appropriate adoption and implementation, in order to optimise patient access to appropriate treatments.

摘要

Improved classification of gynaecological tumours, and therapeutic response prediction, using molecular testing (including immunohistochemical surrogates) is increasingly important for patient management. This is a rapidly changing field, and the application of these approaches to patient stratification will likely expand rapidly in the near future. Furthermore, additional omic technologies that have clinical utility will emerge and require implementation. Healthcare systems will need to employ a continuous horizon-scanning approach, with appropriate adoption and implementation, in order to optimise patient access to appropriate treatments.
