Complications Following Arthroscopic Surgery of the Hip
摘要
Improvements in technique and instrumentation have led to a dramatic increase in the number of surgeons performing hip arthroscopy and the number of cases performed internationally. However, hip arthroscopy is associated with a significant learning curve, and there is a clear correlation between surgeon experience and reported complication rates. Complications are largely minor and transient, with the two most common being iatrogenic chondrolabral injury and temporary neuropraxia. This chapter analyses the reported complications and divides them into three sections: related to surgical technique, specific to hip arthroscopy and general orthopaedic complications.
