TFCC Injuries and Ulnocarpal Abutment
摘要
The triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) is a ligamentous and fibrocartilaginous structure that connects radius, ulna, and the ulnar carpus. It plays a key role in stabilizing the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) and the ulnocarpal joint, ensuring smooth movement of the wrist and rotation of the forearm, and load transmission from the ulnar side of the wrist to the ulna. TFCC disorders may follow a traumatic injury or some degenerative changes with aging. Wrist arthroscopy has significantly improved diagnosis and has become the gold standard in the management of TFCC disorders. In this chapter, we review current indications to arthroscopic repair, focusing on the repair of traumatic foveal lesions and the management of disc lesions after ulnocarpal abutment.
