Childhood CV Risk Factors Predicting Adolescent and Young Adult Target Organ Damage
摘要
This chapter discusses the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and measures of target organ damage in adolescents and young adults. We will review the impact that diet and lifestyle factors, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, obesity, psychosocial factors, and other clinical factors have upon macrovascular health, cardiac morphology and function, microvascular health, and neurocognitive measures. We will then emphasize the importance of appropriate screening, prevention, and management of these risk factors in decreasing future cardiovascular risk.
