Literature Review of Mobile Robots with Reconfigurable Whegs-Wheel Locomotion Units
摘要
In this article, the authors present a review study on mobile robots with reconfigurable whegs-wheel locomotion units. The paper is structured on four chapters. The first part contains information about multimodal mobile robots, reconfigurable locomotion units and mobile robot classification based on their work environment. Scientific articles on mobile robots with reconfigurable whegs-wheel locomotion units are identified and studied in the WOS (Web of Science), Scopus and Google Academic databases for the 2009–2025 period. The second part of the paper studies and synthesizes, based on specialized literature, aspects related to mechanical structure, mechanisms and kinematic chains from reconfigurable whegs-wheel locomotion unit’s componence. The mechanisms and actuators used in the locomotion unit’s structure to change the configuration are highlighted in the study. Two methods for achieving the reconfigurability of locomotion units are identified: in active and passive mode.
