This chapter introduces basic concepts in spatial analysis, including proximity and spatial processes. It also identifies some of the most common measures of spatial association. It utilizes pollution data to conduct spatial analysis on the distribution of values across space. We use measures such as Moran’s I, Geary’s C, and Getis-Ord G to assess the intensity of spatial association.
