Why It Is Necessary to Critically Rethink How (Scientific) Knowledge Is Constructed
摘要
This introduction reflects on the methodological and epistemological challenges inherent in constructing critical historical narratives of human evolution. It begins with the recognition of the complexity and controversies surrounding this field of study, in order to seek a reconsideration that a priori considers the contributions of different disciplines. The work advocates for developing new methodological frameworks that can effectively translate and incorporate diverse perspectives while addressing linguistic, cultural, and institutional barriers. This critical approach emphasises the urgent need to decolonise evolutionary studies by challenging the monopoly of Western scientific discourse and creating space for multiple epistemological frameworks that can provide more comprehensive understandings of human origins and their development.
