Sideroblastic Anemias
摘要
Sideroblastic anemias (SA) are a diverse group of disorders defined by the presence of ring sideroblasts in the bone marrow. This pathologic finding results from non-heme iron deposition in the mitochondria of erythroid progenitor cells. Congenital SA may be due to one of several defined gene abnormalities, though the molecular lesion remains elusive in some cases. Nutritional deficits, medications, toxins, and clonal disorders may cause acquired SA. While congenital SA is rare, acquired sideroblastic anemias are relatively common. The prevalence of SA associated with clonal myeloid disorders will likely increase as the population ages and supportive care improves.
