Optimization and Energy-Saving Performance of the Lining in 420 kA Graphitized Cathode Aluminum Reduction Cell
摘要
This study explores the optimizationOptimization of the lining in a 420 kA aluminum reduction cellAluminum reduction cell during a major overhaul, with a focus on the coordinated application of graphitized cathodeGraphitized cathode blocks and matching lining materials. Through long-term monitoring and comparative analysis of operational data from test cells, a series of technical measures were developed to improve energy efficiencyEnergy efficiency and reduce energy consumptionEnergy consumption. The optimized scheme significantly lowered the cell’s cathode voltage dropCathode Voltage Drop (CVD) and overall energyEnergy usage, achieving a comprehensive AC power consumption of 13,270 kWh per ton of aluminumAluminum. This performance meets the 2025 ChinaChina’s tiered energy consumptionEnergy consumption standard. The results provide a replicable technical pathway and practical experience for energyEnergy-saving upgrades in 420 kA cells, as well as other cell types, contributing to efficiency improvements across the primary aluminumAluminum industry.
