Development of Autonomous Dual-Axis Fire Detection and Extinguishing Robot
摘要
The increasing frequency of fire accidents is a danger, leading to the death of humans and even then, it is, in a way, a question of property, a question of the risk inherent to the fire-fighting profession. Traditional fire sensing and extinguishing systems are limited by fast, efficient and accessible, especially in complex environments. To tackle these challenges, this work proposes interactive critical feature-based tasks achieved by autonomous fire-detecting and extinguishing robots to be used in smokey environments to detect and put out fires. The hardware minimum configuration of the bot includes an array of IR sensors which allows for extensive environmental scanning (sensors, flame sensors) for possible fire threats. These sensors continuously check ambient conditions and report live readings to an ESP WROOM-32 microcontroller. When it senses a fire, the robot can drive swiftly over different terrains with the ability to move toward the fire source. The robot is also releasing specific water streams for fire extinguishing. The purpose of this autonomous system is to reduce the damage as well as give us the capability to fight the fire in real-time without putting the professionals at risk with conventional methods. With the combined technologies of sensor fusion and smart control paired with a mobile, water-based extinguishing system, this work represents a significant leap in fire protection technology.
