Materiality of Religion in the Christian Tradition
摘要
This chapter analyses the materiality of religion as a conceptual framework. In the understanding of the materiality of religion is also important to explore the difference between the spiritual and the material. The chapter will look at the material religion in early Christian history, the medieval period, and also contemporary Christian practices. In the Christian tradition, particularly Pentecostalism material religion is also conceptualised within the concepts of materialisation and materialism. The aim here is to have a broader understanding of the materiality of religion but also specific Christian practices. This will serve as a premise of the materiality of religion within the broader Pentecostal movement and the new prophetic churches.
