This chapter explores the relationship between Pentecostalism and tangible things within the conceptual framework of the materiality of religion. While religion has been studied in the past as a system of belief, there are new developments in the exploration of religion as materiality. This chapter aims to evaluate the practice of materiality of religion within the religious group, Pentecostalism particularly the new prophetic churches in South Africa using the African theological framework. Therefore, it would be important here to introduce the materiality of religion and its distinction from religion as a belief system using the framework of the African theological perspective and the relevant approaches and methods.
