Essay 13: New Strategic Regionalism, South-South Cooperation and Decolonial/DeWesternisation Approaches. Theorisation from the South with Applications to ALBA-TCP and BRICS
摘要
The global origins of regionalism thinking are rooted in various theoretical frameworks that have evolved over time, reflecting different schools of thought and regional contexts. This essay highlights three essential frameworks that have either originated in the South as theorisations or regional phenomena analyses: New Strategic Regionalism (NSR), South-South Cooperation (SSC), and decolonial/dewesternisation theory (DdeW). These frameworks enhance the comprehension of emerging ontologies and theoretical perspectives in regionalism studies, particularly from the Global South, which departs from Eurocentric notions but is enriched by concepts inherent to these ontologies or their departures.
