Building a Skilled and Inclusive Workforce for the Blue Economy
摘要
The Blue Economy has substantial economic, social, and environmental advantages, making it essential for sustainable development. While maintaining the wellbeing of marine ecosystems, it encourages the sustainable use of ocean resources for increased economic growth and better livelihoods. This comprises industries that support employment, foreign exchange, and food security, such as shipping, tourism, and fisheries. Through pollution reduction, climate change mitigation, and marine ecosystem protection, the Blue Economy also promotes environmental sustainability. Building skilled workforce for marine economy is key to driving economic success and maintaining a competitive edge. A well-executed Learning and Development (L&D) strategy empowers workforce to continually enhance their skills, adapt to industry changes, and contribute meaningfully to the marine economy. Investing in blue economy related L&D is crucial for fostering innovation, retaining top talent, and ensuring long-term growth. Effective L&D programs not only equip employees with the marine economic expertise they need but also promote personal development, leadership skills, and collaboration. By prioritizing continuous learning, organizations can create a culture of growth, innovation, and excellence. Every person feels appreciated in an inclusive workplace, which also recognizes their individual differences and how they influence the company's culture and financial results. Affirmative action, which eliminates the effects of bias, discrimination, and unequal opportunity, is a hallmark of an inclusive workplace. Proposed chapter will be a significant contribution in the greater body of academia in terms of marine economy. The development and growth of blue economy does not deal with the financial development through marine products but also concerned with the systematic development and inclusion of modern technologies like AI and Machine Learning for blue economy. This systematic process may include the development of manpower and inclusivity in available manpower.
