Modal Metaphysics: An Opiniated Introduction
摘要
This chapter explores central metaphysical theories of possible worlds, focusing on the ontological and ideological commitments of modal realism and their broader implications. It clarifies the distinction between existence in a world and existence simpliciter, examines the unrestricted summation principle and its consequences, and addresses the counterpart relation, the recombination principle, and the implications of anti-haecceitism. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion of alternatives to modal realism.
