One of the major problemsCharacterization generatedReuse by operations on platforms is the disposal of polymeric materials used to coat decommissioned pipelines—polyamide PA11—which, when disposed of incorrectly, can pose many risks to the environment, making it necessary to look for ways of reusing them. The aim of this research is to evaluate the mechanical, physical and chemical parameters of polyamide PA11 from the reuseReuse of pipes from the oil and gas industry through hardnessHardness tests (Shore D), traction, density, infrared spectroscopy (FTIRFourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)), wettability, dilatometry, and DSC/TGA. The initial results indicate that the material is capable of presenting good properties even after reuseReuse cycles. The conclusion reached is that the properties of polyamide PA11 are very good, especially for pipelines in the oil and gas industry, and that its reuseReuse would be essential not only from an environmental point of view, but also from an economic one.
