Thermal Characterization of Textile Waste and Its Feasibility for Application in Orthopedic Prostheses
摘要
Polymer compositesPolymer composites reinforcedCharacterization withTextile waste textile wasteTextile waste represent a sustainable and functional alternative to the high level of waste from the textile industry, one of the most polluting in the world. The incorporation of these materials into polymeric matrices has shown potential for applications in orthopaedic medicine, combining lightness, resistance and versatility. This research proposes the reuseReuse of different types of linen, jeans, poplin, and helanca textile wasteTextile waste, assessing their viability for application in orthopaedic prostheses. Thermal and physical analyses were carried out using thermogravimetry (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and density by pycnometry, respectively. It was concluded that this study made it possible to observe the thermal performance of different fabrics and their potential application as reinforcements in compositesComposites and possible applications.
