The Digital Culture of a Medical Organization in the Context of the Introduction of Telemedicine Technologies
摘要
The authors justified the relevance of studying digital organizational culture in contemporary economic conditions. The authors conducted a comprehensive analysis of the concept of digital culture and proposed their own definition. They define digital culture as a component of organizational culture, consisting of shared values, norms, and behavioral rules that shape how an organization uses, or plans to use, digital technologies. The research examines the principles of digital culture and its distinctive features in comparison with the “traditional” organizational culture. Based on such important parameters of organizational culture as its strength and focus, the authors developed the “Assessment Instrument of Medicine Digital Organizational Culture” (AIMDOC) questionnaire. As a result of a survey of 267 employees of six public health organizations, the authors confirmed the first hypothesis of the research: there is a moderate or strong correlation between employees’ subjective perceptions of the strength of organizational culture and the level of development of the digital culture in the organization. The second hypothesis of this research, that a correlation exists between the orientation of organizational culture and the level of an organization’s digitalization, was not empirically confirmed.
