Assessing the Economic Impact of E-Commerce Development in Armenia
摘要
The transition to e-commerce schemes is inevitable in the era of widespread digitalization. The rapid growth of e-commerce has enabled businesses to reach customers worldwide, contributing to increased sales. Digital transformation has transformed international trade; e-commerce has led to this development. Better Internet connection, enhanced payment methods, and other developments in Armenia’s e-commerce infrastructure have all contributed to the country’s e-commerce boom. The research aims to assess e-commerce development’s impact on key economic indicators (e.g., GDP, employment, and digital connectivity) and provide insights into how e-commerce contributes to Armenia’s economic development. Non-parametric correlation-regression analysis demonstrates strong positive relationships between economic indicators and e-commerce variables, with consistent and reliable results across Spearman and Kendall. Trend analysis shows that the e-commerce revenue and the number of users are expected to grow linearly until 2025, with the COVID-19 pandemic showing the highest growth rates. These findings comprehensively assess how e-commerce contributes to Armenia’s economic growth and development, particularly in enhancing digital connectivity and influencing employment trends.
