Various characteristics associated with knowledge transfers are discussed in this chapter. The characteristics emphasized are the gender of the owner of the firm conducting the Phase II research. Also, the use of external university-based human capital and technical are discussed. These characteristics are shown through the use of graphical analysis to be related to the innovation outputs of licensingLicensing, patentingPatenting, publishingPublishing, and commercializationCommercialization in varying degrees.
