Traffic-Induced Vibrations and Cultural Heritage: The Monuments in Rome
摘要
The results of a large experimental campaign to evaluate the effects of environmental and traffic-induced vibrations, carried out by ENEA on some monuments in Rome, are reported. The time domain analysis highlighted peak and effective values of the recorded velocity. The study on the Arch of Constantine is illustrated in more detail, with the frequency domain analysis allowing to evaluate the dynamic properties of the monument, useful also for a prediction of the dynamic behavior during an earthquake. The influence of the built environment on the vibrations of the Arch is evident.
