This chapter analyses the organizational change of Fratelli d’Italia since its origin, adopting the well-known approach of Katz and Mair’s party organizational faces: party on the ground, party in public office and party in central office. In this respect, based primarily on party official records and documents such as statutes, balance sheets, regulations and membership data, a general overview of the trend of membership, the main characteristics of the party statute about the local units, staff and finances, as well as the role played by parliamentary leaders, will be offered. The overall hypothesis is that Meloni’s party can also confirm the decline of the party at ground level and a concentration of party resources in the central office and, above all, in the public office in comparative perspective. As a matter of fact, the centralization of power in the hands of Giorgia Meloni’s leadership will play an important role in the further development of this party to the extent she will be able to exert legislative influence, dismiss or appoint ministers, and face environmental challenges to stay in power. Faced with international and domestic challenges, there is no doubt that Giorgia Meloni has so far demonstrated remarkable political skills in managing her party and maintaining stability, and her rise to power is a unique and interesting case from an empirical point of view. For this reason, the “Meloni case” deserves an in-depth analysis of the political conditions and personal characteristics that have enabled her to become Italy’s first female Prime Minister.

摘要
