Management is a process of working with and through others to accomplish mutual objectives. In successfully enacting your roles and responsibilities as a manager you will utilize the management process which is comprised of four sequential steps designed to contribute to your effectiveness as a manager and the success of your organization. The four management functions are planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. In addition to understanding and becoming skillful in enacting the functions that comprise the management process, it is important to understand the ten managerial roles that are categorized into three role sets: interpersonal roles, informational roles, and decisional roles.
