Transformational Leadership

Leadership can be viewed as transactional or transformational. Transactional leaders focus on “keeping the organizational trains running” and are therefore satisfied with maintaining the status quo. In contrast, transformational leaders purpose and strive to transform their organization to excel in fulfilling its present mission and goals as well as the future vision to which it aspires. Highly successful contemporary leaders are transformational leaders committed to preparing and positioning their organizations for the present and future success that its members and other stakeholders both desire and deserve.
