Digital Innovation and Sustainable Practices in Jewelry
摘要
The intersection of digital technologies and sustainable practices is reshaping the jewelry sector. This chapter focused on how digital technologies are transforming jewelry production and consumption fostering a sustainable transformation. It analyzes four key areas: dematerialization, additive manufacturing, algorithmic design, and artificial intelligence. Dematerialization enables the creation of virtual jewelry and experiences, reducing the need for physical resources; additive manufacturing optimizes materials and processes, minimizing waste; algorithmic design and AI support on-demand, customized production, lowering environmental impact while enhancing personalization. Finally, the chapter discusses the results obtained, focusing on the opportunities and challenges, and the evolution of values and perceptions surrounding jewelry, resulting from the integration of digital and sustainable practices in contemporary jewelry design.
