Fostering Tactical Creativity in Team and Racket Sport
摘要
Tactical creativity—defined as the ability to produce original, flexible, and effective solutions in dynamic game situations—is essential for success in team and racket sports. This chapter introduces the Tactical Creativity Approach, a structured framework grounded in empirical research that outlines eight methodological principles (the “eight Ds”) for fostering creativity: deliberate play, one-dimensional games, diversification, deliberate perception, deliberate memory, deliberate coaching, deliberate motivation, and deliberate practice. Drawing from expert ratings, large-scale match analyses, and perceptual-cognitive studies, the chapter highlights the central role of creative actions in elite performance, particularly in decisive phases of gameplay. It also presents assessment tools and training strategies aimed at enhancing players’ divergent thinking and decision-making capabilities. By applying these evidence-based principles systematically across developmental stages, coaches can cultivate creative behavior in athletes, ultimately improving performance and enriching the sporting experience. The chapter concludes with an outlook on future advancements in objective creativity assessment through technologies like positional data analysis.
