This chapter will review clinical aspects of major psychiatric diagnoses, drawing mainly from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Questions will also cover dimensions of the mental status exam, diagnostic interview, and phenomenology of psychiatric conditions. The last section of the chapter will review select diagnostic scales used in psychiatric practice.
