New Perspectives on Global Gender-Based Violence: Digital, Institutional, and Inter-personal Harms is a co-edited book about gender-based violence (GBV) in a social science context. There is much written about GBV, predominantly focused on violence against women and girls, particularly domestic and/or sexual violence. Therefore, this book provides a lens to explore broader understandings of what constitutes violence and harm, the impact of such acts and the vulnerability of individuals beyond the gender binary in one volume. Topics presented in this co-edited collection incorporate varied forms of technology-facilitated violence (TFV) and digital harms, institutional violence and harms, and inter-personal violence and harm. A key thread linking the chapters in this volume is the use and impact of online platforms and technology to initiate violence and abuse with the intent to cause harm, which is now a key topic within academic disciplines, policy and practice.
