This study establishes a novel framework for integrating Sikh ecotheological principles with emerging technologies to address critical urban sustainability challenges. Drawing on previously unexplored connections between Sikh theological concepts—unity of creation (Ik Onkar), divine order (Hukam), and welfare of all beings (Sarbat da Bhala) and contemporary urban design paradigms, we introduce the SIMRAN Framework (Sustainable Integration through Mindful Resonance and Applied Nexus) as an evaluation system for technological interventions in urban environments. This research addresses a significant gap in scholarship by systematically analyzing Sikh contributions to religious environmentalism and technological ethics. Through detailed examination of four technological domains—biomimetic infrastructure, community-based energy systems, AI-enhanced commons management, and circular economy technologies—we demonstrate how Sikh-inspired approaches offer distinctive pathways that transcend conventional sustainability metrics by simultaneously addressing ecological integrity, social equity, and spiritual wellbeing. This interdisciplinary integration provides actionable implementation strategies that honor technological innovation and spiritual wisdom, potentially transforming how cities engage with emerging technologies in pursuit of sustainable development.
