One of the responsibilities of humankind is the sustainability of cultural heritage monuments. Monuments are vulnerable to many different factors from physical disaster to human actions. In the current work, an advanced methodology for digitization, as well as the assessment of health condition of historic monuments is proposed. State-of-the-art 3D scanning tools, as well as UAV drones and digital cameras are being used. A detailed, precise, and accurate 3D digitization of monuments and artifacts is being created, containing fused data, not only for the historic and discovery details, but also from the detailed assessment of their health status produced by advanced nondestructive techniques. For this reason, the 3D-scanned monuments and artifacts are being assessed using advanced Infrared Thermography techniques, such as Optical Lock-in Thermography. The data were processed with smart algorithms which provide an accurate indication of the health condition. This approach and monument database is a useful tool for future restoration and preservation activities, which guarantees the sustainability and authentication of antiquities.
