IoT-Based Smart Home Integration: Innovative System Architecture for Intelligent Monitoring and Control
摘要
In an era where digital technology is deeply integrated into everyday life, the development of smart homes has become a continuous trend. This research focuses on developing a smart home system that enhances convenience, improves security, and increases the safety of residents. The proposed system enables the control and management of electrical appliances within the home through a web application. The core of this system is the ESP8266 microcontroller, which serves as the central control unit, receiving data from various environmental sensors such as temperature, humidity, motion, gas leakage, and fire/smoke detection and controlling relays to switch electrical appliances on or off. Users can control these devices in real-time via a Node-RED dashboard or set the system to operate automatically based on predefined conditions, such as turning on lights when motion is detected at night, or triggering an emergency response in case of fire or gas leaks. Additionally, the system integrates smart security features using cameras for real-time monitoring, which can detect smoke, fire, or gas leaks and alert users or emergency response teams, identify individuals in danger and send alerts to homeowners and authorities, and use facial recognition technology to unlock doors securely, ensuring controlled access only for authorized individuals. A user satisfaction survey conducted among 30 participants showed a high level of satisfaction, with an average score of 4.25 out of 5, particularly in terms of ease of use, security features, and the overall benefits provided. This research demonstrates the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) technology to transform homes into modern, responsive, and highly secure living spaces, making daily life more convenient and safe.
