This study investigates the mediating role of employees' cognitive capabilities in the relationship between the work environment and innovation in Jordanian healthcare organizations. In this cross-sectional survey, 389 healthcare professionals were involved in examining a proposed model of how a supportive work environment influences cognitive capability and further drives innovative behaviors. Its findings indicate that a supportive work environment significantly enhances both cognitive capabilities and innovation. These results also confirm that cognitive capabilities, through an explanation of how environmental support transforms into innovative outcomes, mediate the influences of the work environment on innovation. Indeed, instructions show that cognitive capabilities play a crucial role in fostering creativity and adaptability from supportive conditions, accounting for a substantial part of observed innovation. These findings clearly indicate that maximizing organizational innovation requires a focus on both environmental factors and cognitive development. The study also places emphases on how organizations need to invest in strategies aimed at building workplace support and enhancing employee cognition to achieve innovation far into the future. Suggestions for further research include investigating this relationship in other industries, using a longitudinal approach, and considering the impact of developing technologies.

摘要
