VR-Cook: Designing a Virtual Reality Serious Game for Cognitive Training Through Cooking Activities in Older Adults
摘要
This study presents the design and preliminary evaluation of a VR-based serious game intended to improve cognitive function and bimanual coordination in older adults with mild cognitive impairment. The game is set in a simulated kitchen environment and integrates tasks targeting memory, attention, and executive function, alongside bimanual coordination exercises. Developed using the Unity engine and deployed on the Meta Quest 2 platform, the system offers an immersive and interactive training experience. A small-scale usability test indicated high levels of user satisfaction regarding ease of use and interaction comfort. However, difficulties in task comprehension were observed, highlighting the need for enhanced instructional support. The findings suggest the potential of immersive VR experiences in early-stage cognitive intervention and offer directions for future refinement and validation.
