Development of an Innovative UX Measurement Approach for Augmented Reality in Corporate Training
摘要
Augmented Reality (AR) indicates significant potential for enhancing learning activities in Corporate Training (CT) by enabling interactive and multimodal learning experiences. However, evaluating the User Experience (UX) of AR in CT remains a challenge due to the lack of a comprehensive measurement approach. Existing UX measurement tools either lack domain specificity or fail to capture both system characteristics and user perception. This article addresses this by extending our previous research. We introduce the UXARcis, an innovative UX measurement approach that combines the ARcis questionnaire measuring concrete AR system characteristics and the UXAR-CT questionnaire quantifying the abstract user perception based on relevant UX quality aspects of AR in CT. The approach is grounded in an established UX model, allowing for the evaluation of both product features and product character within AR-based training environments. We conducted an empirical study using the UXARcis questionnaire to evaluate an AR-programmed instruction application in CT with 105 vocational automotive students. Results demonstrate the validity and reliability of the UXARcis scales. The study highlights the value of a multi-level UX measurement framework in CT, providing useful results for improving the AR application design. In this respect, the UXARcis is unique as no comparable approach exists so far. Future research will explore the relationship between the ARcis criteria and the UX quality aspects, as well as the integration of automated analysis methods.
