Kubernetes Fundamentals
摘要
This chapter introduces the fundamental building blocks of Kubernetes and explains how they enable scalable and reliable application deployment. It begins with pods, the smallest deployable unit, and demonstrates their structure through a simple example. The lifecycle management of pods is addressed through deployments, while services are presented as the means to ensure network communication between components. The chapter also covers ConfigMaps and secrets, which provide efficient ways to manage configuration and sensitive data securely. YAML’s role in Kubernetes is explained in detail, highlighting its structure, syntax, and purpose in defining resources. Finally, the concept of operators is introduced, showing how they extend Kubernetes’ capabilities by automating complex operational tasks. Together, these concepts establish a strong foundation for understanding how Kubernetes organizes and manages applications in a cloud-native environment.
