Developing Digital Competences of Young People in the Context of Using Artificial Intelligence: The Case of Poland
摘要
A growing need can be observed in Poland for conducting scientific research on the development of digital competences among young people in the context of AI use. The aim of this chapter is to examine the development of digital competences among young people in Poland in the context of the growing use of AI. The theoretical part employs a review of relevant literature, document analysis, and desk research concerning digital skills and the application of AI in education. The empirical section is primarily based on an analysis of the results of original research, conducted in the form of a diagnostic survey among the student community of a selected university in Poland. The findings from a convenient sample of 241 students indicate a growing awareness of, and interest in, AI among young people. The chapter also compares the impact of AI on the educational process with traditional teacher-led instruction, highlighting the differences and challenges associated with each approach. The conclusion outlines the key insights and implications derived from the study. The findings will be useful for students, academics, and higher education institutions. Implications for students and academic teachers are discussed.
