This chapter provides both a broad overview and many specific examples that help pediatric residency programs design, implement, and evaluate their structured curriculum. First, it is important to define structured education: What does this refer to in pediatric GME? What topics should be covered, and how should a program organize its approach? Next, exploration of how to deliver high-quality education, including best practices in medical education and specific examples of teaching approaches. After a program has determined what they want to include in their structured curriculum and how they want to deliver it, they will need to build a team to organize, teach, and assess. Finally, practical considerations such as where and when structured education have been explored.
