Across the United States, pediatric residency programs serve as the critical training ground for the next generation of pediatricians. As of July 2025, 212 categorical pediatric residency programs accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) were required to adapt to newly revised program requirements. Simultaneously, many programs are navigating a period of leadership transition and renewal, following the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic and a wave of retirements among experienced program leaders. At this unique inflection point in graduate medical education (GME), the need for a single, authoritative guide that addresses both the foundational elements of pediatrics residency training and the emerging innovations shaping its future has never been greater.

摘要
