Erasmus+ Projects and Science Communication in the Digital Era: The CARE Project Dissemination Plan
摘要
Science Communication through research projects is one of the major knowledge dissemination tools of Higher Education Institutions. These projects, normally implemented by international consortia and funded by the European Commission, assist and guide in the use of scientific knowledge by citizens. Although science is generally received as something positive, trust is a main variable in the way scientific work is assessed by the general population. If results of research can contribute to a change in behavior and the societal impact is visible, credibility towards science is validated. This paper focuses on the Dissemination Plan of an ERASMUS+ project targeted to responsible consumption, CARE. It details its aims and objectives, how they were accomplished, the type and resources used, and examples of reporting tools to reach the different targets. To create interaction with and impact the audiences, outputs were designed to maximize practicality, facilitating the evaluation of their effectiveness, evident in the test and validation stage. In addition, the diverse expertise and commitment of stakeholders and the complementary strategies implemented along the project’s lifetime, contributed to reinforce the positive perceptions of Science Communication, namely through digital means, increasing public engagement and building trust in relation to scientists and academia.
