Pedagogical Tool of Pictographic Reading for Children of First Year of Basic Education

This work presents the development process and the results of a mobile application that takes advantage of the benefits of the pictographic reading technique in the teaching-learning process of children in the first year of basic education, in the Victoria Vásconez Cuvi - Simón Bolívar - Elvira Ortega Educational Unit, in the city of Latacunga - Ecuador. The specific content taught by this tool promotes knowledge of the culture and traditions of the city, as it is based on the main characters of the festival called “Mama Negra”, a festival that has transcended internationally and is celebrated annually in the town. It wants to create an efficient pedagogical and technological resource, which motivates the child to read, know and use Tics; with this application the objective has been achieved, because the tool created by students of the Technical University of Cotopaxi – Ecuador, of undergraduate and postgraduate studies, responds to a multidisciplinary project in which the areas of pedagogy and computer science take part in, is currently in production, available on Google Play so that anyone with an Android-type mobile device can download and use it, this of course, after its respective validation with real users in the context of initially planned use.
