Implementation Process of Tailored Project Management Approaches in a Public Infrastructure Construction Company: A Case Study
摘要
Tailoring refers to the adaptation of Project Management (PM) approaches to meet specific project needs. This paper offers a practical contribution by presenting the implementation process of a tailored PM approach for a major Italian infrastructure project. The selected case concerns a section of the Turin metro line, in which the authors were directly involved in defining the monitoring and control methodology. The tailoring process is framed according to the PMBOK Guide – Seventh Edition. Particular attention is given to the flow of information and data within the organization, as well as to the implementation of a tailored Project Management Information System (PMIS). While the main project followed a traditional waterfall approach, agile practices, specifically the Kanban methodology, were adopted to manage the process of developing and refining the tailored project management methodology.
