The use of advanced digital technologies in manufacturing processes has been called Industry 4.0. Given the significant impact it has had on industrial performance, it has been the object of several studies by the academic community. Some of these works try to represent this field, by proposing taxonomies. However, a study of these taxonomies shows a diversity in scopes and viewpoints. Therefore, we aim at analyzing these taxonomies to provide a basis for a global taxonomy. The results show taxonomies related to technology, specific sectors or themes, to the main research areas identified in literature and others oriented towards the implementation of industry 4.0.
